   Introduction
Welcome to the web of the Associació d'Amics dels Pelegrins a Santiago in Barcelona, where you will find information about us and about the main ways of Saint James. On this introductory page we talk about our Association (who and where are we, what we do, our activities -though not in English- and the latest news -not in English-). In Our Origins (a page not in English) there is a summary of our history from the beginnings to the present time. In practical information (not in English) we deal with subjects such as the credential, the compostela, the shelters, the physical problems and some advice. In main ways (not in English) we mention the general characteristics of the best-known ways of Saint James. In catalan ways we describe the main ways which have their origin in Catalonia. In our magazine (not in English) we include an article from each one of the magazines which our association issues every three months. In other associations there is a detailed list of the different Spanish Jacobean associations. In links of interest (not in English) you will find some of the most interesting webs. Finally, we would like to point out that the pages from this web have been totally elaborated by members of our Association.

   What do we do?
Our activities are focused to let know and to promote the different existing Jacob's ways and, especially, the catalan ways. Quite modestly we also try to promote all those non-material values which have been an essential feature of the way since its origins: the spirituality or religiosity, the culture, the knowledge, the solidarity and the human values. Furthermore, it is necessary to add nowadays a new value: the protection and safeguarding of the area as many travellers show their worries regarding the physical degradation of the way.

On Wednesdays, in our premises, we informe and we give the credentials to the future pilgrims. Every three months we issue the magazine Vestigium Viae, where we include several information and as well as articles written both by members and non-members of our Association. On some weekends we on excursion along the nearest ways. We are also in charge of the signalling of the way between Tārrega and Santa Cilia de Jaca (see the page catalan ways). In addition, we are in contact with other Saint Jacob's Associations from different places, with which we meet several times a year to walk together and to share common experiences. We also want to elaborate, in a near future, a guide of the Catalan Way from Montserrat to Santa Cilia de Jaca.
